Before longtime San Francisco Bay Area resident Curt Sigfstead began his successful business career, he earned a bachelor’s degree in international relations at Brown University. As an undergraduate in the late 1980s, he competed on the varsity rugby and rowing teams. He subsequently completed an MBA at the University of Western Ontario’s Richard Ivey School of Business. Curt Sigfstead stays involved in alumni activities associated with both schools and also volunteers his time at San Francisco’s Katherine Delmar Burke School. He is a trustee with the Shawnigan Lake School, a British Columbia boarding institution he attended while in high school.
Mr. Sigfstead’s community efforts extend to serving on the board of the nonprofit San Francisco Food Bank. With a staff of 120 and approximately 25,000 volunteers, the Food Bank accepts donated foods from manufacturers, farmers, and retailers and distributes them to the needy in San Francisco and Marin Counties. Each day, enough food for approximately 100,000 meals goes out to community members. In his free time, Curt Sigfstead enjoys family activities, as well as tennis and skiing.
